Neutral Holiday Decor

Hi, friends!

Just stopping in to share some photos of our house after decking the halls this year!

Admittedly, I draw outside the lines of minimalism when the holiday season rolls around. There are just so many pretty Christmas things and they make the house feel so cozy!

I do stick to a pretty neutral palette, though. I love pairing deep green evergreens with warm wood tones and copper elements, like the santa letter mailbox in the photo below!

One new tradition I toyed with this year is the “naked tree”. For years, we’ve cut down a fresh tree each year the weekend after Thanksgiving. I love the smell of a real tree and the experience of hunting for the perfect one with the kids, but the needle shedding is INSANE. So I decided to get a fake tree this year and honestly, it was great! No shedding, no dry, poky needles stabbing into my feet, AND I ordered it early and was able to put it up before Thanksgiving (hello, an extra week of Christmas cheer!) Anyway, since we put the tree up early, I decided to put lights on it and save the ornament decorating for closer to Christmas. Turns out, I really love the look of a bare tree! We ended up leaving it naked until the week before Christmas, and then made a fun family afternoon of adding the ornaments. This is a tradition that’s here to stay :).

Do you like to decorate early, or do you wait until right before Christmas to deck the halls?

That’s all for today, friends! Good tidings to you and yours!
