Thrifted: Antique Desk

Hi, friends!

I’m back with another thrifted find today and this may just be my favorite second hand treasure yet!

I found this desk on FB marketplace for $100! It’s antique, solid wood and in amazing shape—I really felt like I’d discovered treasure when I saw the listing!

My original plan was to sand it down to get rid of the two tone stain and re-stain it a vintage oak color. However, it was serendipitously too windy to sand it outside today so I decided to style it as-is in the meantime. And now that I have, I think I love it just the way it is! What do y’all think?

I styled the desk with accessories I already had on hand, including a painting I found for $3.99 at Goodwill and a Target lamp that I updated with some paint and baking soda. By the way, that chair was thrifted too! Are you sensing a pattern? 😆

For now, the desk is set up in our living room but we have plans to bring the wall out a bit when we add built-ins this year, so I’m not sure if it’ll live there permanently. In any case, I love it and it’s staying in our house forever!
