Thrifted Dresser Makeover

Hi, friends!

Y’all are not going to believe the treasure I found on FB Marketplace! Wait for it…

How gorgeous is this thing?! Even better: I paid $35 for it!! The find of the century!

This piece is made of a combination of solid wood and wood veneer, so I decided to sand it down and see what was underneath the dark stain and lacquer. I was not disappointed!

I loved the look of the unfinished wood, so I decided to give it a dusting after sanding and just leave it as-is! (If this were a dining table or something that would get exposed to heavy use/moisture, I’d have at least put a clear coat on it, but there will only be decorative items on top.) I love the rich natural color of the wood! So pretty :).

Here are some photos of the dresser once I finished styling it. Not only do I love the visual interest it adds to the space, but the drawers have been amazing as additional storage in our little house!

That’s all for today! I hope this inspires you to shop second hand for furniture—you really can find unique and beautiful pieces and save a ton of money if you’re willing to put in a little work :). Thanks for stopping by and happy thrifting!
